Humans aren't the only beings that encounter prejudice and discrimination. Black cats do. Animals deserve as much protection and equal treatment as humans. October is Black Cat Awareness Month
They also have their own appreciation day, which is August 17th. A day in which many shelters, veterinarians, and other pet affiliates come together to promote adopting a black cat (or two...or three...). Special promotions are offered to encourage adoption. This day is also to dispel common and false myths from centuries past about these dark-coated beauties.
They are no different from any other cat you would meet, except for the black glossy coats. These black beauties are least likely to be adopted and most to be persecuted. People attempt to adopt them around Halloween to use them as decoration and then throw them away like the other Halloween decorations. Worse, people
